In order to respect the commitment to strong ecological values, in favour of eco-responsible practices, multiple actions have been implemented by the René Oltra campsite, in particular the creation of a vegetable garden (access Bagnas alley O in the North West of the campsite). The vegetable garden has several spaces for herbs, courgettes, tomatoes, curcubitaceae and others...
You can exchange plants, seedlings, seeds, vegetables, fruits and meet Valérie, the person in charge of the garden.
This vegetable garden is gradually being set up and will have a participatory vocation as the seasons go by.
Of course, chemical fertilizers, weed killers or pesticides aren’t used in the garden.
We will provide a composter near our vegetable garden.
A notice near the composter will remind you what is good for the compost and what is not.
It is with your help that this "consensual" eco-responsibility of good sense will bear fruit...
The vegetable garden has recently been equipped with a water reserve to accommodate the aquatic fauna near the Bagnas, (batrachians, reptiles) and where the birds of the reserve come to quench their thirst. Participatory workshops have been set up for the creation of nests for bats and swallows, as well as devices for insects (insect hotels and nesting boxes).
Nature lovers, don’t hesitate to visit the vegetable garden!
